2405 Fire Protection & Life Safety Bylaw

2688 Burning Regulation Bylaw
The City of Pitt Meadows has adopted a Burning Regulation Bylaw. The Bylaw regulates how, when and where things can be burned. To view a complete copy of this Bylaw, click on Burning Regulation Bylaw.
There are two burning seasons per year in the City of Pitt Meadows. The Spring burn season runs from March 1 – May 31st and the Fall burn season will run from September 1 – November 30. Burning is permitted only on agriculturally zoned properties and a permit must be purchased prior to burning. Permits are available from City Hall Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. Permit holders are required to call the Metro Vancouver Ventilation Index hotline at 604-436-6777 each day prior to starting a burn to confirm whether or not burning is permitted that day. The message is updated by 8:30am every morning. The permit cost is $50.00 for a five consecutive day permit. Please note that this does not mean you can necessarily burn for five full days.
2673 Fireworks Bylaw
The City of Pitt Meadows, like most other communities in B.C., has adopted a Fireworks and Pyrotechnics Bylaw. The Bylaw regulates the locations of where and when fireworks can be sold, as well as the types of fireworks available. It also regulates the use of pyrotechnics.
Getting married? Having an outdoor celebration? Sky lanterns have become increasingly popular as a way to celebrate. They pose a serious fire safety hazard and are absolutely prohibited in Pitt Meadows under all circumstances. Read more here.
