Our changing community, its culture, and the dynamic economic climate all contribute as factors necessitating an innovative, responsive and efficient fire rescue service.  Our department has a long history of utilizing new efficiencies and technologies to keep us at the forefront of fire services for similar sized communities.  The use of a combination service, with a small contingent of career staff in support of a large group of paid-on-call (POC) volunteers, enables the department to achieve a high level of response capability and prevention activities, while maintaining one of the lowest cost per capita ratios of any fire service in BC.  We are a recognized leader in so many ways and our community and Council support is the reason that we can continue this strong tradition.

The department has received many accolades over the years, both official and casual, and all are the direct result of the skills, abilities and attitudes of the great membership our organization has enjoyed.  As a primarily volunteer/POC department, we are very proud of the personal and professional accomplishments of many of our members; including many who have gone on to provide exemplary service in many fields of endeavour, especially public safety.  We are equally proud of the very high level of respect we enjoy in the community; much of which is a direct result of the self-less participation of members in community events such as Pitt Meadows Day, Hot Summer Nights, and Canada Day.  All of which, our members voluntarily participate in.

In the website, you will find a lot of information on a vast array of subjects.  From public education to occupancy inspections, from vehicle rescue to aircraft firefighting, and from structure fires to medical aid.  Our department also provides a wide range of services that are all described and/or illustrated within our website.  You will find a lot of "take-away" material that can be downloaded, as well as numerous references to Bylaws and reports.  We have many links to other public safety agencies as well.
