Pitt Meadows Firehall

Opened on November 12, 1983, the Pitt Meadows Firehall is located at 19240-122A Avenue. This is just east of Harris Rd. and south of the CP Rail tracks.

Still in its original configuration the firehall has been an excellent facility since its original construction. It is a single floor facility which was upgraded to post-disaster earthquake standards in 1999 and has its own dedicated emergency power standby generator.

Staffing
The fire hall is staffed by the Fire Chief, Assistant Chief's from Monday to Friday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. Volunteer staff responds to the firehall when called for assistance via the use of pagers supplied by the department. Dispatch and paging of the Pitt Meadows Fire & Rescue Service is performed by highly trained emergency radio dispatchers located at the Surrey Fire Department Communications Centre, whom Pitt Meadows contracts as our dispatch agency.

Firehall Areas
The hall consists of two distinct areas. The administration area has office space for the Chief, two Assistant Chief's, Administrative Clerk, Volunteer Officers and two meeting rooms. The apparatus bay area is capable of parking six fire apparatus in three double-deep bays. There is a shop area and a 3 storey hose/training tower. The building is constructed largely of concrete block and/or wood frame and the footprint is approximately 635 square meters. Adjacent to the building is a cellular tower which the department leases out to telecommunications organizations as a means of revenue generation for the department.

The large parking area adjacent to the firehall is for the parking of the volunteers vehicles when they respond and we ask that this area be kept clear of all public vehicles at all times unless you are at the firehall on official business or for fire safety education sessions.
